COURSE TITLE: American Government
PREREQUISITES: World History B or AP European History
LENGTH: 1 Trimester
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course will examine the origins or our government, compare our government to others in the world, explore the issue of civil rights, study political parties and the political process, and review the purpose and structure of the three branches of government. It is hoped that through this class, students will gain an appreciation and understanding of our government so they may become active, interested, and involved citizens in the future. This course will bring our students into alignment with the standards recommended by the Michigan State Board of Education and covered on the MEAP test.
