Advertising & Marketing 

PREREQUSITES: None (Computer 1 and Intro to Business recommended)

LENGTH: 1 Trimester

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Marketing is one of the most interesting business subjects in the curriculum.  We see examples of marketing all around us every day of our lives.  This class is designed to apply marketing concepts to current trends in the real world.  This course is a comprehensive overview of the marketing process and marketing strategies used in the global marketplace.  Students will also learn the role of advertising in every level of business from small businesses to large corporations.  This course is recommended for all students, particularly those considering a major or minor in business studies in college.  The major outcomes of this course are:

·        Introduce students to the important role that marketing and advertising play in both profit and nonprofit corporations.

·        Provide students with an understanding of the international aspects of marketing and how the world is moving towards a global economy.

·        Introduce students to the various forms of promotion, including advertising, sales promotion, public relations, visual merchandising and publicity.

·        To discover the multitude of career opportunities available in marketing and advertising.
